What This Means for You
Microsoft has decided it’s time for devices to upgrade to Windows 11. This marks the end of support and development for Windows 10. It feels like Windows 10 just came out. However, it released back in July 2015 — 10 YEARS AGO!

Impact of Ending Support
With support ending for Windows 10, your devices will be vulnerable to attacks. Currently, Microsoft's development teams work daily to update systems and fend off malware. However, from 14th October 2025, their focus will shift entirely to Windows 11.
This shift leaves Windows 10 users exposed to potential cyber threats. As a result, even low-level hackers could access your private information.

What Can You Do?
As of the writing of this article, you have 152 days to act. However, these days can pass quickly. Most Windows 10 devices purchased in the last five years are compatible with Windows 11. However, you must upgrade to take advantage of this.
You can perform the upgrade process by yourself, but it's not always straightforward. I strongly recommend consulting a professional to avoid complications.
How to Check Your Operating System
On your Windows device, hold down the “Windows key + R” and type in msinfo32, then click "OK."
A window will appear. The first line will tell you what operating system you are currently running. For example, this system shows it is running “Windows 11 Pro.”
If you see Windows 11, great! Your machine is ready for the upcoming changes in October. Make sure all other devices are also up to date.
If you see Windows 10, don’t panic. However, it’s crucial to take action before October. Now is an excellent time to start planning. If your home or business needs help, feel free to reach out. I'd be more than happy to discuss the next steps.
Conclusion
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is more than just an option; it’s a necessity. Left unaddressed, the lack of support can lead to various risks, including security vulnerabilities.
The good news is that most modern computers can support Windows 11. Taking proactive measures now can save you from potential issues down the road.
Don't wait until it's too late. Ensure your devices are secure and operating with the latest technology. As Microsoft transitions its focus, take the time to invest in the future of your digital experience.
